At times this score is colossal, dark, and emotionally charged that perfectly captured the weight of the film. Hans Zimmer brings the brooding orchestral depth, while Junkie XL adds aggression and darkness.
Highlights include the heroic, cello-driven 'Is She with You?, the mournful 'Beautiful Lie,' and the devastating 'This Is My World'. Batman’s themes are grim and punishing; Superman’s are noble but tinged with tragedy.
The movie has been unfairly hated on, and I think a reason I enjoyed it as much as I did was the soundtrack. Not every track begs for a replay, but the standout moments are so good they elevate the whole experience, especially for a film score.
