Steven Kelly is a former British Army Sergeant Major with 22 years of distinguished service in the elite 29 Commando Regiment, operating in some of the world’s most demanding environments. A seasoned survivalist and passionate outdoorsman, Steven has channelled his military experience into founding South West Survival, where he teaches bushcraft, resilience, and adventure skills to civilians, veterans, and corporate teams alike.
Steven is widely recognised for his grit and leadership on-screen, having starred in Naked and Afraid and Naked, Alone and Racing to Get Home, pushing himself to the limits in extreme wilderness challenges. His authenticity, humour, and no-nonsense approach have made him a fan favourite in the survival community.
Originally from Liverpool and now based in Plymouth, Steven lives for adventure, the outdoors, and sharing the mindset and skills that have shaped his life—from combat zones to remote jungles and the TV screen.
