Another one of those Academy Award winning films from last year just like I already reviewed the first two, Anora, The Substance and now we have The Brutalist and from what I saw from the beginning I thought this is anther one of those holocaust films about Hebrew where Adrian Brody played the same character and that makes me am I watching the sequel to The Pianist. I looked it up the two and I saw is, no, it's not the sequel to The Pianist by his character's name wise, but there are no Germans in the film. Hell, if it a sequel as he IS a holocaust survivor, why not just call it "The Pianist Brutalist" or "The Brutalist Pianist". Hahahahaha! I get the picture what you both might be thinking when I put those names together. It's insane. A Hungarian-Jewish architect and Holocaust survivor, László Tóth played by Adrian Brody, travels to Philadelphia and stays with his cousin, Attila played by Alessandro Nivola. He discovers that Attila has assimilated, anglicizing his name and converting to Catholicism. Revealed to László that Erzsébet and Zsófia are still alive but stuck in Europe. He offers him work with his furniture business, and the two are soon approached by Harry Lee Van Buren, who wishes to surprise his father, wealthy industrialist Harrison played by Guy Pearce, with a renovated library at his mansion near Doylestown, Pennsylvania. Since that this is actually one of the last films that is over three hours long, there are still more in the near future so any film that is three hours, I'm all in for it. And considering that The Brutalist had an overture in the beginning and an intermission in the middle, you're going to witness a really long experience. Such films have these types of terms whilst you're watching something, you can tell whether or not you think this is going to be over three hours long much like we both witnessed Gone With The Wind, Lawrence of Arabia, Once Upon a Time in America, The Godfather: Part II and the extended cut of Dances with Wolves and it even does the same thing with musicals and non musicals as well which are not over three hours like High Society, King Kong and The King and I if you watch a VHS of it. If one of those things appeared in films that are completely over three hours that have intermissions in the middle of those films, heck, why not try do the same thing with this one when the intermission has happened but the physical media says "No, let's just The Brutalist as it is." which you know what, I don't mind at all. As for Adrian Brody however, he actually an Oscar for his role in the film, in another film as a Jewish character as I literally thought as I say it again it's a sequel to The Pianist but no. Two time Academy Award winner. From what I'm seeing so far after seeing the two Oscar winning movies, The Brutalist is one of the most epic drama films I've seen. Yeah, I know it's a little similar to The Pianist but it is done in very different way by not making it a straight out war film instead just do it in a period drama way but make it epic and long with Adrian Brody being in it. This film is very well acted by the performances, a well captivating cinematography and immense directing style. Of course this is the film I can watch along with the other epicly long films without getting interrupted but actually did but nothing major but still. Since now that I've watched two Oscar winning films from last year, like I said about Anora and like I said The Substance, I've said it twice and I'll say again, The Brutalist is one of the best films of 2024. Boom shakalaka!
Now we come to one of the Oscar winning films from last year, three of which have come to be one of the more memorable ones that have gotten more recognition that had got many audiences to see. The first one, one of which is Anora. Oh yes, Anora. Known to be the winner of five Oscars so yeah, I gotta say that this is going to be one helliva ride if I say so myself. Anora aka."Ani" played by Mikey Madison, a sex working stripper, lives in Brooklyn. Her boss introduces her to Ivan "Vanya" Zakharova and he's in the U.S. to study, he spends most of his time partying in clubs and playing video games. He hires her for many sexual encounters. He invites her to a New Year's Eve party at the mansion, and Anora, Vanya and his friends are out partying, getting drunk and "Ani" and "Vanya" are getting married in Vegas and they both live in the mansion. When news of their marriage reaches Russia, Toros is ordered by someone to find them and get their marriage annulled while someone flies to America, "Vanya" runs off and it looks like they will not be getting a Cinderella fairytale they were hoping for. Now before getting into this, I have just thought about something that completely blown my mind. First off is Mikey Madison. Yes. Now the first time I saw her in is got to be Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood and the second time I saw her in is Scream 5, so yes, I saw Mikey Madison in two both movies that many people will recognise her from but it looks like I'm not the only one who saw two films I see her from, Sean Baker, the director himself has saw Mikey in both movies and that why he cast her in the film. And now, the third time we ever saw her in is the Oscar winning film which I'm doing right now is Anora, and you know what, since I mentioned that it won five Oscars at the Academy Awards, all I gotta say is, SHE WON AN OSCAR!!! (Applause) Yes sirre! For the first time ever in the Academy Awards Mikey Madison was going to be nominated for an Oscar and at my very site, Mikey Madison actually won an Oscar for her role in Anora, so yeah, this movie is that memorable for a time being so congratulations. I'm proud of you. Oh, Academy Awards. I'm in Heaven. (Sighs) As for the story trope of Russians trying to get "Ani and "Vanya"'s marriage annulled, they really did not appreciate that their marriage ever happened in the first place, the Godfather, Toros only knows what's best for his parent's son. As a Comedy Drama itself, for me, the comedy doesn't really kick in until the second half between Anora and Toros and his henchmen mostly which one of them spewed in the car after stating that he can't stand of looking at her. At first, I thought they're Italians but no, they're Russians. I was irritated that they're really going to destroy their marriage by having it canceled at first but that's what this movie does to you in an impeccable and unique way so be sure on that. So with that said, Anora is a great romantic comedy drama that really get courteous so that this film will not get you angry once you've seen it. The directing from Sean Baker is great, the acting is superb especially from Mikey Madison and the story is so original like you'd never expected before. If you want to see an Oscar winning film to keep you in a impeccable and incredible mood, this is the one to check out even if you haven't heard, seen or recognise Mikey Madison before much like some like myself did with Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood and Scream 5 then you will know what I mean once you've seen those two. So with that being said on the run, Anora is one of the best films of 2024. Toodle loo and Toodle pip!
Previously of The Twilight Saga. And finally I get to rap off this entire pentalogy franchise with The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2. With Part 1 being the worst of the franchise along with New Moon, the second part just sticks into action. But on the other hand I still think it's the same thing, the same film and I forgot to mention that it's directed by Bill Condon, the guy who directed the live action Beauty and the Beast. Bella wake up after giving birth to a baby girl named Renesmee, when Bella is now a vampire Edward helps her satisfy her initial thirst. When Jacob acts possessively towards Renesmee, Bella learns he has imprinted on her, she gets p***ed at him until he explains he has no ill intentions. And now the battle begins when Aro and the Volturi pack found out Renesmee is immortal so now it's up to the Cullens to fight off the Volturi once and for all. Now I literally thought this is going to be the better film out of all of them and you know what? I am this close. One: it had a great ending to the franchise which is always good. Two: that doesn't change the fact that it's over loaded with crappy writing, bad acting, characters who are bland that I'm never getting into, they're boring just like everything about this whole pentalogy as pretentous and boring as they made it out to be. Pretentious? Moi! "Hahahahaha." Oh, you got to be kidding me? There's one thing I'd like to mention is that when I saw the opening credits I literally just see the name that popped in there called Rami Malek. I saw that name came up and I said "Hey, Rami Malek is in this? I didn't know he's in this." I never expect to see him in this movie and I never thought about this. Most men and women from high school and collage may seem to love these movies but for me this whole franchise just bored me to death and give me nothing but pure blandness and phoned in performances that you don't give a s**t about. But if some of you out there who liked it, that's fine but if you're interested in seeing The Twilight Saga claiming you haven't seen them before, go ahead. Or if you're like me and you want to move on with your life from it then I would highly suggest to just stay away from this franchise. And that concludes The Twilight Saga pentalogy. Boy, what a trip! Now it's time for me to just move on and never look back on this piece of s**t franchise. Say what you will, say what you can, I don't care, I'm just not a huge fan on this boring @$$ mess. But if you wanna tell me to go back and watch this movies again by saying give them another chance and you wanna ask me to go do so, I'd say "f**k off."┌∩┐(◣_◢)┌∩┐
All right, let's get this over with, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1. I can safely say that they put Part 1 just like they did with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and then just put Part 1 on it because this is the never ending story. Yeah, like the children's title, eh? The two part movies is interesting to think of even if you're a fan member you still gotta think of the expectations when those really hold up. Continuing on the saga, Jacob Black is heartbroken over Bella's choice of marrying Edward Cullen, so he runs away from town upon receiving an invitation to the wedding. They both got married and Bella's mum and dad and their friends celebrated for Bella and Edward. Jacob arrives and Bella is surprised to see him. She admits that she and Edward plan to consummate their marriage on their honeymoon. He becomes furious, knowing that such an act could kill her. After the wedding, she and Edward travel to Isle Esme for their honeymoon, and they make love for the first time. Two weeks later, Bella is pregnant and Edward thinks something is wrong knowing that the baby is not a human. They came back to the Cullens' house and the Cullen's and the team should perform an abortion, Jacob comes in and he gets angry at Edward for doing this to her but he teams up with him to prevent Bella from dying. Okay, okay, so when it comes to Twilight, nothing's happening most of the time until we get to see Bella getting pregnant with something not human but very dangerous. Alice cannot sense and see what is inside Bella until it was revealed to the end so truly something in this movie must be exciting for me, right? Well, technically, no, I am getting bored of this half arsed franchise when clearly nothing in here is exciting or entertaining about it. But why are the werewolves speaking when clearly you don't get to see there mouths moving and you're kind of being questioned to know what is going on and pretty much what the wolves are thinking about. So yeah, it's still a s**t arsed Twilight movie and I am finally going off the rest of the pentalogy by doing the second part of Breaking Dawn and definitely the final film of The Twilight Saga. Thank God!┌∩┐(◣_◢)┌∩┐
After I reviewed New Moon which I think is the worst out of The Twilight Saga so I'm coming to know what to expected with Eclipse taken place right after New Moon. Victoria played by Bryce Dallas Howard, replacing Rachelle Lefevre, attacks Riley Biers so she can create an army of newborns with him to get her revenge on Edward Cullen for killing her true love James who is from the first Twilight. Edward and Bella both talk about the complications of becoming an immortal vampire. Edward refuses to turn her into one until they are married. While she visits Jacob Black, Jacob confesses that he is in love with her and kisses her. Bella punches him and sprains her hand and Edward threatens Jacob that he ever touches her against her will again and tells him to wait for Bella to give it to him. Alice sees a vision of the newborn army attacking Forks so now the Cullens and the wolf pack teaming up to train and defeat Riley Biers, Victoria and the newborn vampires. Now as I am thinking through this, when Bella expresses her love for Edward, Jacob is in love with her so there is a love triangle going on. It's just stuff and clichés that you've seen over and over again. I also looked upon that Rachelle Lefevre was supposed to reprise her role as Victoria but later got fired due to the fact that her filming schedule overlapped with that of her other film Barney's Version so she replaced by Bryce Dallas Howard. Yeah, you'll get to see her in Jurassic World with Chris Pratt, eh? I'll give it this, It's not as worse as New Moon but it's still not a very good sequel. I'll give my full thoughts and opinions after two more movies, so is Breaking Dawn going to be a good movie for me? "Wah Wah Wah Wahhhh" Maybe someday, but it's certainly not going to happen this time.┌∩┐(◣_◢)┌∩┐
